Story Time with Anisha

A delightful and insightful story time with Anisha about Parvati + Durga + Kali!

Evil demon brothers, Chanda and Munda are leading an army with the mission to take over the world. Upon their arrival on the foothills of the Himalayas they encounter Parvati, goddess of the householder. Completely taken by her beauty they request her hand in marriage for their king. She agrees under the condition that she will only marry if she defeats him in battle, and only after she has killed him in battle will she agree to marry.

The brothers agree to her conditions. As the army approaches her home Parvati FROWNS and from the furrow and wrinkle of her eyebrow Durga emerges, the warrior goddess. Durga, rather quickly, starts to defeat the army. The king, Chanda, and Munda charge at her. Durga FROWNS her brow and thus emerges Kali, the most ferocious. In the blink of an eye Kali consumes the entire demonic army.

Kali retreats back into Durga, Durga into Parvati, all becoming the infinite version of themselves.

The story reminds us that within us there are infinite versions of ourselves to help conquer and defeat the “demons” you may encounter in modern, everyday life. As Anisha said, “You are the goddess of the householder, you are the warrior, the ferocious, the divine, and everything in between.” These versions of you emerge when you need them the most, even if you’re not aware of them being within you.
