About Classes
-
Great! We love beginners. The perfect class for you is basics, or our quarterly beginner series. All you need is yourself, water, comfortable clothes and a yoga mat. Arrive early!
-
Yoga class is deeply personal for every individual. Three Queens welcomes you to explore your practice in our space in ways meaningful to you. Expect that if you are newer to yoga that some classes may be more challenging but all of our teachers will offer options to make poses more accessible.
-
For those new to yoga, we always suggest starting with The 45 Class or our Basics classes, which focus on the fundamentals and help you build a solid foundation. More experienced students can explore the Mixed Level, Hour, or Sculpt & Core classes for a dynamic challenge. However, please note that to attend our Intermediate/Advanced classes, you should have a consistent yoga practice of at least one year.
-
Teachers at Three Queens are like a family. You know everyone is related, but everyone is still unique. The same is true about class. Expect similarities, but uniqueness in teacher cueing, direct attention to the hows and whys the body moves, along with story and theme’s relatable to the world we live in. Check out teacher bios to learn what each teacher offers.

More About Classes
-
A yoga mat. We sell them. If you get serious about yoga- we can help you pick a mat that is right for you. If you don’t have a mat, we have loaners.
Water. The studio has filtered water and also sells water.
Some students like a small hand towel for sweat. We do not have towels, so we encourage you to being your own if you think that is something you might need.
-
Three Queens supplies cork blocks, straps, blankets, and therapy balls for class. Where appropriate, there is access to bolsters.
-
Consent is essential to us at Three Queens. We seek consent in meaningful ways, from how you like to be addressed (pronouns) to how you want us in your space. We also ask open-ended questions about how you are feeling and your wellness- which is your invitation to share with us things that are important to your practice.
Some students love hands-on assists and feel that being assisted with touch in asana postures is part of the yoga class experience. While we recognize the yoga industry’s long history of “touching every student” in yoga classes, Three Queens does not adhere to that belief.
Our classes are taught with direct verbal cueing and adjusting, and we pride ourselves on using words over hands to guide students to proper alignment in almost every scenario.
Will you see the occasional hands-on assist in class? Possibly. When that occurs, rest assure there has been a conversation about consent.
-
Three Queens is not a hot vinyasa studio with heaters—while we promise you’ll sweat, we focus on building internal heat through longer holds and focused breath work rather than relying on an artificially heated room. Because we love to break down poses and invite questions, you also won’t find much fast flow in our classes. If you’re specifically seeking a heated or quick-paced vinyasa experience, we might not be the right fit.
