Foundations of Teaching Restorative Yoga

Join Erick for this six-hour in person training and delve into Restorative Yoga's foundational principles, poses and props and learn how to create and hold space for rest and relaxation in your classes and daily practice

Through experiential learning and group work, you will encounter the science of behind relaxation, optimal alignment and energetics in restorative yoga poses and be introduced to supported, rest-specific sequences with "all the props" and sometimes only one prop. Participants can expect to leave the training with 3-5 class-ready restorative sequences.

Expect: Lecture, demonstration, partnered exercises and practice-teaching of restorative poses, discussions, Q&A, and a training manual.

  • How to choose music for maximum relaxation and no distraction.

  • Yoga Alliance CEU hours.

  • A training manual compiled by Erick

  • A list of recommended reading and resources

  • The benefits of Restorative Yoga, and how Restorative yoga affects the nervous system.

  • The use of props and how to fold blankets.

  • Restorative poses for back bending, forward bending, twists and inversions

  • How to cue a safe and quiet entrance and exit from restorative poses.

  • Introduction to sequencing restorative poses.

  • Addressing students needs by observation.
